In my iTunes account I have a little over 200 songs, however when I listen to my music, I just listen to the different playlists that I’ve made – neglecting some of the other songs.

Last night, as usual, I put my ear buds in as I went to bed and instead of just choosing a playlist – I shuffled the entire music library – and ended up staying up most of the night listening to all of the songs I had forgotten I downloaded.

Now while I don’t want to list all 200+ songs in my iTunes account, I will give you the top 5 songs that come up when I hit ‘shuffle’…

Here they are…and don’t judge!!

You & Me - Lifehouse Covered by Boyce Avenue

I’ve previously stated that I absolutely LOVE Boyce Avenue who rose to fame simply by doing cover songs.  He has an amazing voice and he puts his own spin on the songs he is covering which makes it that much better!

Over When It's Over - Eric Church featuring Joanna Cotten

Off his first live album ‘Caught in the Act, Live’ released in April of 2013, this song was never released to radio – but because I have such a strong love for Eric Church (and I want to marry him!) – I stumbled upon this song and it quickly became a favorite.  Joanna Cotton KILLS IT on backup!

    White Horse - Laid Back

Because every music library needs to have a couple of ‘throw-back’ dance songs!  In 1983 ‘White Horse’ was released as the B-side of the single ‘Sunshine Reggae’ which became a major hit in several European countries.  But meanwhile, back in the good ole’ U.S of A. – ‘Sunshine Reggae’ was basically ignored and ‘White Horse’ became the hit and spent several weeks at #1 on the Dance Charts.  When re-released as an A-Side single in Europe it never did well.

Southside of Heaven - Ryan Bingham

I had never heard this song until a great friend of mine requested that should he ever die, he wants this song played at his funeral.  He passed away not long after he had that conversation with a mutual friend.  And that’s all I have to say about that.

    I Miss You - Incubus

Off of their 3rd album ‘Make Yourself’ released in 1999, ‘I Miss You’ was never released to radio.  However it was featured on the music video game ‘Rocksmith’.  This is another song I stumbled upon during a ‘YouTube Adventure’.  A ‘YouTube Adventure’ is where you start with one video of your choice; music, comedy, commercial etc. and watch it, then you must pick one of the suggestions that YouTube offers for your next video – and so on and so on, until you go crossed-eyed from staring at the computer screen.
