Yesterday I was standing in line at the grocery store.  There was a man standing in front of me who turned around and made an attempt to pay me a compliment.  He said (and I hope my ‘spelling’ matches the pronunciation of the words he chose),

“Dayum Ma – Whachoo lookin all hawt fo tuhday!?”

So here’s my question – Why do people talk like this?  I don’t understand it?  Its one thing to speak in a different language but to butcher a language by changing the pronunciation of words is silly!  At least that’s my opinion.

I’m just saying – if a man would like to pay me a compliment – he would be better off saying,

“Pretty dress – you look nice today.”

And another thing – I find it exhausting to have to decipher the meaning of certain words by pulling up Urban Dictionary all the time.

The last time I checked a “ratchet” was,

a mechanical device that allows continuous linear or rotary motion in only one direction while preventing motion in the opposite direction’

NOT (and I got this from Urban Dictionary)

a diva that believes she is every man’s eye candy but is unfortunately wrong

Where do people come up with this?

Anyway – these are my opinions.  Rant over.  Carry on.
