Every year since 1948 Gallup has polled Americans on what man and woman they admire the most. This year's USA/Gallup poll was taken December 15-18, 2011. Winning the Most Admired Man living today for the second year in a row is President Obama taking 17% of the mentions. His closest competition is George W. Bush at #2. Bill Clinton is #3, with #4 being the Rev. Billy Graham. Warren Buffet and Newt Gingrich are #'s 5 and 6. #7 is Donald Trump, Pope Benedict XVI is #8, Bill Gates at #9 and #10 Thomas Monson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

On the female side, Hillary Clinton was picked once again as the top choice for Most Admired Woman. In fact, she's been somewhere on the list a record-breaking 16 times since 1993! At #2 this year is Oprah Winfrey, followed by the first lady Michelle Obama at #3. #4 is Sarah Palin and #5 is Condoleeza Rice. Former first lady Laura Bush is #6, Margaret Thatcher makes #7, Ellen DeGeneres is #8, #9 is Queen Elizabeth II and GOP candidate Michele Bachmann comes in at #10.
