No one said it would be easy, but the Red Raiders battled back to go out on a winning note at the Houston College Classic. After losing to #4 Arkansas and #4 Rice, Tech got 10 runs on 15 hits and beat Houston 10 to 4 over the weekend. This was a Houston team that went into the game with 2-0, beating Tennessee and #4 Arkansas, a team that Tech lost to 3-1 earlier in the tournament.

There were some positives that came out of the game. The 10 runs on 15 hits, matched a season high.

The Red Raiders got good relief work from Trey Masek, who struck out 6 batters, and held Houston scoreless for the four innings he pitched. Masek only allowed three runners to reach base in those four innings. It was good news from the bull pen for Tech.

Tech's right fielder, Jamodrick McGruder was named to the all-tournament team,

Tech improves to 9-3 on the year with the win over Houston.

With the two losses, Tech drops to #26 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30.

Things don't get easier for the Red Raiders as they travel to Tempe Arizona to play #11 Arizona State on Tuesday, March 6th, then to Forth Worth to play an always tough TCU team this weekend.
