I've been slacking, but no more! The RTX New Music Challenge is back (again) and just as cool as ever. It's your chance to weigh in on the new music that we spin at Radio Texas, LIVE! This week the latest single from Cody Johnson "Ride With Me," goes up against Reckless Kelly's new single "The Last Goodbye." Your job? Listen to both, then vote for your favorite.

First up one of Texas' brightest young stars, Cody Johnson. This year he was a finalist for "Live Act of the Year" at the Lone Star Music Awards. According to Kevin Fowler and Aaron Watson, he is the next breakout star in the Texas scene.

Judging by the quality of music he's putting out, the radio play he's receiving and the steady growth of crowds at his shows, Cody Johnson is no less than a sure thing. Off his album "A Different Day," here is "Ride With Me."

Reckless Kelly front man Willy Braun and his multitasking brother Cody (vocals/fiddle/mandolin/harmonica) hail from Idaho, but over the past decade their music has been woven into the fabric of Texas Music.

With seven albums to their credit and their eighth "Long Night Moon" due out in September. Reckless Kelly has built a monstrous fan base spanning from their adopted home of Austin all the way to their native Idaho. The first single off the new album is our challenger this week, "The Last Goodbye."
