Being the dog lover that I am it elates me when a no-kill animal shelter gets a major boost. That's what happened to Morris Safe House recently as they received $6,000 from the Lubbock Area Foundation. It'll be used to fund the needed vaccines for the dogs rescued in their care. The dogs will be protected against rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parvo, and influenza among other diseases.

Morris Safe House, a non-profit agency, was founded in 2008 and serves Lubbock and surrounding counties, rescuing dogs and providing medical attention, vaccines, spaying/neutering, I.D. chips to those rescued, and adopting into forever homes where they will be loved and taken care of.

My daughter found a stray dog some time last year and Morris Safe House was one of the places she called. Thankfully, the owner was found but I specifically remember her saying how helpful the lady at Morris Safe House was, with even a followup call! Glad they got some necessary funds to keep doing what they're doing.
