The song "I've Been Everywhere" certainly applies to singer/songwriter Bob Livingston. He has taken Texas music from India and Africa to the Middle East. He says that music can build bridges between peoples.

Livingston has traveled the world as a Music Ambassador for the U.S. State Department. In fact he was named Austin's International Music Ambassador in 2009 by the Austin City Council.

Livingston stopped by the 99-5 the Bear studios this morning and talked with Jane and I. We talked about his world travels and his latest CD "Gypsy Alibi". It was co-produced by Lubbock's own Lloyd Maines. The CD was nominated and then went on to win "Album of the Year" at the Texas Music Awards.

On the CD is a Buddy Holly song, "Not Fade Away" that was recorded live in Bangladesh in 1991 on a cassette. Maines urged him to put on the CD and it's there as a bonus cut.

Livingston will be performing tonight at La Diosa in the Depot District in downtown Lubbock.

Here's a video of Livingston singing the Buddy Holly song "Not Fade Away" in different countries he has visited.
