Early online voting proved to be critical to Underwood’s success, as she was able to hold off rallying Shelton fans. The dark and stormy title-track from the normally sweet and innocent singer’s new album will now face a song by one of Nashville’s hottest foursomes.

A footnote to November 2011 articles pertaining to Tim McGraw‘s supposed victory in a lawsuit against Curb Records indicated that while the singer was free to sign another recording contract, proceedings would continue in July 2012 to determine if the singer owed his former label damages.
