Walking The Line with Johnny Cash [VIDEO]

It's Monday, the first day of the week and it's a good time to check out the first Number One songs of some of country music biggest stars. One of the biggest stars and a true icon died on this day on 2003.

Johnny Cash started out in 1954 recording for the legendary Sun Records. In fact he was in the picture with Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley. The four became known as the "million dollar quartet"

During his career, Cash racked up 14 Number One hits on the Billboard charts, won 5 Grammys and was the youngest, at age 48, to be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1980. In 1995 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

In 1956, after a couple of Top Ten hits, Cash recorded what would turn out to be his signature song, "I Walk The Line". It went straight to Number One on the Billboard charts and stayed on the charts some 43 weeks.

Johnny Cash passed on this day, 2003, from complications from diabetes. He was 71.
