Wal-Mart Offers Free Tax Prep Through the Tax Season
If you file your taxes early you are probably one of those taxpayers who expects a refund. About 39% of the 133+ million tax returns filed last year submitted them by late February. And you might want to take care of this chore early especially if you’ve got money coming to you! This year one of life’s headaches is being eased a bit.
Beginning today, more than 3,000 Wal-Mart stores nationwide are offering free preparation of simple tax forms. Kiosks with tax preparers from H&R Block and Jackson-Hewitt will be giving away their services during the tax season. Also the free service is not just limited to Wal-Marts, as H&R Block stores are offering free prep of the 1040EZ through February 29.
