United Hosts “Biggest Loser” Contestant’s Book Signing

A former contestant on the NBC television show, "The Biggest Loser", Abby Rike is headed to Lubbock. Ms. Rike will here for a book signing at the Market Street United at 98th and Quaker on October 19. She's written a book entitled "Working It Out, A Journal of Love, Loss and Hope".
The book, available for purchase at the event for $16.49, chronicles her life following the deaths of her husband and two young children in a 2006 car accident. In it, she covers her initial reaction complete with declining health and eventual recovery. Three years after the accident, she appeared on the television series, weighing 247 pounds and losing, by the December finale, an amazing 100 pounds! The book signing is set for 10 a.m. on the 19th.
