On this "two for Tuesday" are two singers that are Texan by birth. She was born in Seminole and he was born here in Lubbock.

 

Tanya Tucker was a teenage sensation. She reached the Top Ten while still in her mid teens with the song "Delta Dawn". By the time she was 16 years old, she had several Top Ten and Number One hit songs,  featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and was making 200 appearances a year.

After devoting many years to country music, the CMA's finally voted her female vocalist in 1991.

Delbert McClinton was more a blues artist. He is most noted for his harmonica playing. In the 70's he teamed up with Glen Clark and started doing a blend of country and soul music.

 

He also wrote the song, "Two More Bottles of Wine" and it became a Number One song for Emmylou Harris in 1978.

In 1991 he won a Grammy for his duet with Bonnie Raitt on "Good Man, Good Woman."

Also that year he reached the Top 5 on the country charts with a duet he did with Tanya Tucker, "Tell Me About It."
