It's another edition of "Thirsty Thursday", when I take a look and listen to one of the great drinkin' songs in country music. The way this song got to the artist who sang was a little unique.

The song "Sunday Morning Coming Down" was written by, at that time, an unknown Kris Kristofferson.

As the story goes, Kristofferson, who learned to fly while in the military and was a commercial helicopter pilot in Nashville, landed his helicopter on Johnny Cash's front lawn and delivered the tape to the man in black.

The song captured the Country Music Association's "Song of The Year" Award in 1970 and it hit number one on the country charts.

So check it out, Cash and Kristofferson.
