The Texas Tech Lady Raiders were on a five game losing streak but that came to an end this past weekend. The Lady Raiders show why they are ranked #21 in the country and beat the Texas Longhorns 75-71.

With one of their top players, Kierra Mallard, out with an injury some players had to step up. Senior Jordan Barncastle and sophmore Shauntal Nobles answered the call.

Both of them had double/doubles. Barncastle had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Nobles poured in 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Coach Kristy Curry has got to feel good when she can go to a player like Nobles when Mallard is out. In fact it was Nobles fourth start of the season.

Tech was aggressive and making plays when they had to. One of those moments came when Texas was up 71-70 with 48 seconds left in the game.

Monique Smalls drove for a layup and her shot was blocked. But the blocked shot went right to Barncastle, who was right under the basket for the put back and was fouled. She made her free throw.

The fans were there too, all 10,411 in the United Spirit Arena.

All those fans need to be back in the United Spirit Arena this Wednesday when Tech host #14 Texas A&M.

Wow, there is never a day off in the Big 12.
