It looks like Bo Altobelli has taken over as Texas Tech's man behind the plate. He also is on the watch list for the Johnny Bench Award. This award is given to the country's top college catcher.

It's Altobelli's second consecutive year to be on the watch list. He is one of 11 catchers in the nation to have that distinction.

Bo hasn't wasted any time getting started this year for the Red Raiders. He's batting .306 with scoring seven runs, one home run and has six RBI's. Oh yeah, he's 3 for 3 in stolen bases.

Altobellis is one of the team leaders with five multi-hit games. The award also takes into consideration defense. Bo fielding 1.000 so far with 88 putouts and 15 assists.

The Red Raiders will travel to TCU this weekend for a 2 game series. Friday's game was cancelled because of weather.
