Mark McKinney has seen a lot of miles recently on his current radio tour. He's seen over 5,000 Miles of the Lone Star State in just over a month's time, and there's no sign of slowing down. It's a crazy life style, but McKinney if proof that with hard work and passion, good things will come.

McKinney is currently touring in support of his most recent release, Home. Home blends honest story telling with real life stories to create an album that relates and connects with its listeners.

"The River Song" and his current single, "Drink Too Much," give off a back at home comfort that you can't find in music much. It's true to the musician and true to the lifestyle that most Texans live. Plus both songs are too catchy to not be instant hits.

It's hard to pick out one song on Home that stands taller than the others. Home is easier classified as well written gem for country music fans that's flawless from beginning to end. It's easily McKinney's most complete album to date.

McKinney continues his rough and tough touring schedule through the end of 2011 with a short, and much deserved, break coming at the beginning of 2012. The Big Spring native continues to sit pretty as a true staple  for Texas Country with no end in sight. The future continues to be bright for McKinney, who's just having a good time.

Mark was kind enough to stop by the studio at 99.5 the Bear earlier this week and play a song for us. He thought it was fitting to play "The River Song" to help us remember Summer one last time before the cold weather set it. It helped because it was a chilly 40 degrees when Mark played.

Grab a Bud Light and head back to the river with Mark McKinney's performance of "The River Song."
