Taylor Swift ventured out of her Rhode Island mansion and into the hospital on Monday (March 31) for a very good cause. She paid a visit to sick kids at the Hasbro Children's Hospital.

The stopover by Swift was a surprise, and officials at the hospital say that the songstress put smiles on many children's faces during her stay. Jill Reuter, spokeswoman for Hasbro Children's Hospital, explains that the 'Red' hitmaker and her dad visited numerous children and she even played a song for kids in a psychiatric unit.

What's even more heartwarming is the five-hour visit was one of the longest the hospital has ever had. It's not uncommon for Swift to extend her stays when she's around sick kids; recently, she spent several hours on a kids cancer floor in New York City.

The good-hearted Swift again proves that she has one of the most giving hearts in country music. She is up for 2014 ACM Entertainer of the Year, which she has won two other times.
