A Texas Tech University student, senior geophysics major from Austin, Jeffrey Poole, is a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army; and he is coordinating a special event throughout the month of April for the Texas Tech Veterans Association. It's "Cell Phones for Soldiers", a non-profit campaign collecting old, used and even broken phones which are sold to refurbishing companies.
According to this site, if you send red roses, you're sending some love to the recipient. What a great sentiment and you've got a sweetheart or someone who needs some love, you can get flowers sent to them this week through the South Plains Lions Club.
Hey, Rick Gilbert here, and I just found out that I once again will be flippin' pancakes at the 59th Annual Lion's Club Pancake Festival, Saturday Feb. 19th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. From my past experience flippin' cakes I can tell you it ain't no easy task. In other words keep your fingers away from the grill... far away. More on the festival after the jump.
