After this weekend everyone is talking tennis at Texas Tech. Not only did the Tech women's win the Big 12 title with their win over Iowa State, but the Tech men's tennis team did what they had to do. That was to beat the University of Texas and that is what they did.
It took 35 years but the Texas Tech Lady Raider tennis team finally won the Big 12 title by beating Iowa State 5-2. They made school history by winning the conference title and advancing to the NCAA tournament. The most encouraging thing is that there are no seniors on this team. They all come back next year.
The Texas Tech Red Raider tennis team host Texas this Saturday at 6pm at the McLeod Tennis Center. This match means a lot for Tech has far as seeding is concerned in the Big 12 Tournament.
The Texas Tech Red Raider baseball team is back in the friendly confines of Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. Starting today they will open a six game home stand. The Red Raiders will host Florida Gulf Coast tonight and Wednesday night at 6pm.

Talk about making a statement. The Texas Tech baseball team captured a huge win last night, beating #10 Arizona State 8 to 4 in Tempe, Arizona. It was the Red Raiders first win over a top-10 ranked non-conference opponent on the road since 2001.
The Texas Tech Red Raider baseball had a successful weekend winning the Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic. They went undefeated and are now 8-1 on the year. The Red Raiders are now ranked #24 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. It's they're first top 25 ranking in a major poll since 2005. Now they hit the road and they will get tested early.
These are the games you need to win. It's a home game for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders and they know they need to protect the home court. They'll try and do that tonight when they host the Kansas Jayhawks in the United Spirit Arena.
If you are a Red Raider basketball fan, you knew it would happen. Well, it happened. Tech finally snapped an eleven game losing streak and beat the Oklahoma Sooners 65-47 this past Saturday night in the United Spirit Arena.
