I researched the term in Wikipedia and found it's "a person who experiences the sense of taste with far greater intensity than average." Women are more likely supertasters, as well as those from Asian and African descent. Among European descent persons, about 25% are supertasters. Other foods that supertasters don't like: certain alcoholic beverages, brussels sprouts, coffee, grapefruit juice, soy products and carbonation in sodas and beer.

If you're wondering if you could possibly be a supertaster, there's a test. By coating your tongue with blue food dye you can actually see the fungus. But don't panic, experts say you don't need to treat it, it's all part of being human, just like eye or hair color. TV writers have even worked it into their scripts. In an episode of one of my favorite shows, "Royal Pains", the  character of Evan, recently found out he's a supertaster.  You know, maybe I'm one too, because when I taste liver it's the worst flavor I've ever had in my mouth. If I'm not a supertaster, I can't even IMAGINE  how bad the taste would be if it was heightened. What foods taste bad to you?
