On November 22, 1963, President John Kennedy was killed by an assassin, one or more depending on which theory you believe. If you are old enough, that's one memory you don't forget and will always know where you were when you heard the news. Author Stephen King uses that event as the subject of his new book, "11-22-63". And, it'll soon be a movie! The fictional story, based on fact, revolves around Jake Epping, a high school English teacher whose friend has a storage room with a portal to 1958. This friend enlists Jake on a mission to prevent the Kennedy assassination, thrusting him into the world of Elvis and JFK. One reviewer says King makes alternative history work.

Hollywood director, Jonathan Demme, has already signed on to do the film based on King's book. It's slated to start filming in the fall of 2012.
And until then, the book would make a great Christmas gift this year.(hint hint) "11-22-63" is published by Scribner, offering a signed limited edition on Thursday, November 10. The book, available on audio books as well, can be found at book stores and on Amazon.com.
