Rick’s Retro Rack Ridin’ With Asleep At The Wheel [VIDEO]

Epic Records

On the “retro rack” today is the ultimate Texas swing band. Asleep At The Wheel, after drifting around the country from Washington D.C. to San Francisco, finally landed in the state where Bob Wills is still the king.

They are based out of Austin. Ray Benson, the front man, is the only original member. The band mixes a blend of blues, jazz, country and rock.

In the 70′s they became popular with the Outlaw movement and were embraced by the same folks that were into Willie Nelson.

The group has won several Grammy awards.

When you’re at one of their concerts, you can’t help but get on the dance floor and scoot and boot.
