Richie McDonald is coming to Lubbock and will be in concert 7 p.m., July 22, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. The show, "Richie McDonald - Up Close and Personal" is sponsored by KQBR 99.5 the Bear, Yates Flooring Ctr, Overhead Door of Lubbock, Thrasher Incorporated, Temple Electric and Cindy Hughlett Music Ministry. Because of the involvement of several local underwriters, tickets are only $15.00 each and can be purchased beginning Monday, May 16, through Select A Seat outlets in Lubbock(www.selectaseatlubbock.com).

The acoustic concert features Richie, long recognized as one of the country's best singers, having been labeled "The Voice" and he will be joined by inspirational artist/songwriters Cindy Hughlett and David House as well as teenage singers/songwriters Tori Forbess and Abbie Layne Rose. The family friendly concert is a fundraiser for Cindy Hughlett Music Ministry and there will be music for all tastes. For many years, Richie was the lead singer in Lonestar and started a solo career in recent years. His song, "I'm Already There" became the unofficial anthem for U.S. troops serving in the Middle East. Here's hoping we'll hear that beautiful song at his July concert. Here's a video of that award winning song penned by Richie McDonald.
