Never follow children or animals on stage. That's kind of a basic rule of thumb if you're an actor, because they'll upstage you every time! Well, this weekend at the premier of the new Christmas play at the Cactus, "THE Child Is Born", the Christmas story told through the animals, there are plenty of children who are playing animals and that should be quite an experience to watch. They'll have the market on 'cute'.

Seriously, this is a new children's musical, that Lubbock attorney Ann Manning, an accomplished pianist, has compiled with writers, Marjorie Hodgson Parker and J. Paul Manning. There's a full band, along with with children as birds, turtles, camels, angels, donkeys, cows and goats. There will be two shows, December 2-3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cactus Theater, 1812 Buddy Holly. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12.50 for children 12 and younger. According to The Price Group, Manning says, "It is our prayer that this bird's eye view of our Savior's birth will touch, transcend and transform all who hear the Good News!"
