Some of the funniest commercials that have run during past Super Bowls, with plans to air more this year, are the CareerBuilder.com spots featuring chimpanzees. But an official with  Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo says the humor is overshadowed by the fact that these spots could cause humans to lose sight of the fact that chimpanzees are an endangered species. He adds that because this feeling could be an underlying result after viewing, people would be less likely to help save them.

A Duke University study supports the zoo official's theory. But the Chicago Tribune says despite numerous emails, the company has ignored requests to pull the spots for Super Bowl XLVI, instead saying the commercials have been very effective for brand awareness.

I'm guessing we'll see this slapstick humor on Sunday. Personally, I like the ads featuring the well-dressed chimps. Here's an example of three ads, with the last one, in my opinion, being hysterical.
