The Lubbock Professional Fire Fighters, Local 972, is stepping up to help "Jerry's Kids" with the "Fill The Boot" campaign going on now through May 14th. Look for these local heros at the intersections of S.Loop 289 and Slide Rd, 50th and Indiana, 4th and N.Loop 289 and 19th and University and give your dollars and change to help them in their support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The Fire Fighters have been doing this for 57 years and are the largest national sponsor for MDA. To date they have raised nearly 350 million dollars nationwide. Last year, the Lubbock Professional Fire Fighters raised almost $65,000 for West Texas MDA. Steve Yoakum of the L.P.F.F. was on the morning show with Jane and I and said the goal this year is $100,000.
Funds raised from Fill The Boot will help support the West Texas area MDA Children's and Adult Clinics, Summer Camps for "Jerry Kids"and needed research to find causes and cures for some 43 neuromuscular diseases.
Something to remember, MDA receives no government funding and charges no fees to those served by MDA.
So help out and "Fill The Boot"
