It's that time again to set'em up and listen to one of the great drinkin' songs in country music.
Today's song is from 1989 that Hank Williams Jr. recorded with his father, the legendary Hank Williams, using technology known as electronic merging. The song, "There's A Tear In My Beer" was written by Hank Sr. and had previously been recorded with Hank Williams playing the guitar as a solo instrument.
Old television footage that existed of Hank Williams was used and electrontically merged with recordings of Hank Jr. to make it appear as if the two of them were singing together.
The video became a huge success. Both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country music named it "Video Of The Year". In 1990, Hank Jr would win a Grammy award for "Best Country Vocal Collaboration".
So sit back, pour yourself a cold one and sing a long.
