Rabbits hop. We all know that. But rabbit showjumping. Yep. It's a new spectator sport that was invented in Sweden. It's called Kaninhop and involves bunnies jumping their way through and around courses consisting of several small jumps of different heights and lengths.
The more jumps a rabbit clears the higher the score. Sometimes there is a time limit added to the competition.
The world record for height is 99.5cm, while the record for distance is three meters.
Of course animal rights activists are alarmed and do not like the use of leashes in competitions. Organizers say there is a good reason for the leashes. Safety. Organizers point out what would happen if a male rabbit were to break free and do what rabbits do. Apparently it's happened before.
Check this out and watch and enjoy some rabbit showjumping.
