The 31st annual “U Can Share Food Drive” of the South Plains Food Bank starts today.

I don't why I become more aware of those less fortunate during this time of the year.
Maybe it's because of the cold, holiday dinners/parties or maybe it's all the focus on holiday shopping. I'm that person who eats everything on their plate, simply because I feel guilty for tossing perfectly good food into the trash, when I know people around the world are starving. Knowing that I can't change the world hunger problem, I try at least to help locally and you can too.

Need motivation? Studies find that at least 1 out of 6 people in Lubbock

go hungry.

The drive starts today and runs through Saturday, so you’ve got plenty of time to go through your cupboards and blow the dust off those canned goods you forgot about and drop them off at any United Supermarket location. Or just pick-up a few extra items while you’re at United and then donate them right there ~ easy!
