I think it's rather interesting that the so called Father of Texas, Sam Houston, was born on March 2, 1793.   I'd say the adoption of the Texas Declaration of Independence was a humdinger of a birthday present.   A giant of a man, Sam Houston, standing at 6'6" said, "Texas will again lift it's head and stand among the nations.  It ought to do so, for no country upon the globe can compare with it in natural advantages."

Alright all you Texans and semi-Texans out there, what's your favorite Texas story or  joke?  One of the listeners to the Rick and Jane morning show on 99.5 the Bear, shared point number one of A Texan's Guide to Life, "Don't squat with your spurs on".   Sounds like pretty sound advice to me.  Happy Independence Day, Texas.
