The goal is 2,500 students with lemonade stands by May 5th! Sounds like a monumental task, huh? Well, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is kicking it all off at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, April 4, with a ribbon cutting at United Market Street at 50th and Indiana. It's the official start of Lubbock Lemonade Day

Can you imagine the experience and education kids receive when they learn how to start, own and operate their own business? That's what the nationwide program is all about. Last year 31 cities(120,000 kids!) participated and this year they're looking to get 100 cities involved.

The program includes a backpack with an entrepreneur workbook with 14 lessons of Lemonade Day. Kids pre-K through high school are urged to participate and can keep the money they make. It's all about how to be in business and give back to your community. For more information go to http://Lubbock.LemonadeDay.org.
