This weekend is one of many entertainment choices running the gamut from music, to food, to live theater. First of all music-wise you can pick from venues like Triple J's in the Depot where Junior Vasquez is performing Friday and D.G.Flewellen on Saturday. Or across the street at the Cactus you've got a choice between music of the 40s and 50s on Friday to a rockin' 60s night on Saturday.

 

The fabulous Leslie Sawyer will have a CD release party for her new offering, "Girl with a Fish Bowl" at Tornado Gallery on Sunday, Feb. 19 from 5-8 p.m. Her guests will be pretty special too. The likes of Kenny Maines, Andy Wkilkinson, Cary Swinney and several others will celebrate with her and the public of course is invited to the fun.

If you're looking for some food with your entertainment this weekend, check out Mesquite's Chili Cookoff featuring Brandon Adams and the Sad Bastards. The all-day event will be at 1910 Research Blvd.(West 19th near Reese) with doors opening at 10 a.m.

Or, maybe pancakes sound better to you. It's the 60th annual Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival all day Saturday from 7 a.m. 'til 7 p.m. at the Civic Center. Entertainment and all the pancakes and sausage you can eat for only $5 in advance or $6 at the door, with those under 2 yrs old getting in for free.

Live theatre includes Moonlight Musicals production of "Three Redneck Tenors", a dinner theatre presented at the Civic Center Banquet Hall Saturday night. Or check out the new comedy at Ragtown Gospel Theatre, "Saint John and the Televangelist"
