When Carrie Underwood was 13 and growing up on an Oklahoma farm, she became a vegetarian when she learned what happened to the animals. But wasn't fully eating as a vegetarian until she was 21 when she moved away from home. In addition she found that she's lactose intolerant.

And now, seven years later she says she's 95% vegan, not eating any animal product or anything made from an animal. She tells Self magazine that on occasion it's hard to stick to, "sometimes you're at a birthday party and there's cake and...you can't resist". Most icing is made with shortening, an animal product.

No matter how she eats, she can still belt out a song. Here's her latest that's blowing away the charts.
