Billy Dean plays “Billy The Kid” On Rick’s Retro Rack [VIDEO]

On the "retro rack" is a singer who took a page from the group Sawyer Brown, and won the male vocalist catagory on "Star Search" in 1988. He also earned a scholarship to play college basketball.

Billy Dean got his music career started playing the club circuit along the Gulf Coast. After he won on "Star Search" it take long for him to hit the charts.

In 1990 he released his first album and scored with the hits "Only Here for a Little While" "Somewhere In My Broken Heart" which was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Dean was a hit maker in the early 90's. Three albums went gold and he grabbed two CMA awards for participated in the "Common Thread: The Songs Of The Eagles".

Billy Dean is a great singer and songwriter. In fact one of my favorite songs by Dean is one he wrote called "Billy the Kid".
