A lot of times in country music, or any type of music for that matter, a singer will bust out with a huge hit song. It goes to Number One on the charts and then, that's it. He or she become what is known as a "one hit wonder". That is what we will feature today.

Deborah Allen went to Nashville when she was 17. While working as a waitress she met of all people Roy Orbison. He hire her as a backup singer and that led to work as a singer and dancer at Opryland.

Her break came in 1980 when she signed a contract with Capitol Records and in 1983 she hit is big with the song "Baby I Lied". It went top 5. She had other hits but this is the one people associate with Allen.
